How I Lost $42,000
I hired a top agency and their return on ad spend was 0.32.
That means they spent $26,000 on ads, but only made $8,000 in sales.
It gets worse. I paid them $24,000 in agency fees. So they actually lost me $42,000 in total — in the space of a few months.
So I tried again, spoke to Google and got a recommendation for another top agency in New York, which I won’t name.
They overpromised and in the first 3 months achieved a return on ad spend (ROAS) of 0.35.
Again, with $12,000 in agency fees, it means they just took our money.
It would have been easier to burn the cash or just throw it down the drain.
